Key Laboratory of Polar Science, Ministry of Natural Resources, was established on September 28, 2004. The laboratory is dedicated to research in earth system science,and has developed five research directions:

1）Polar snow & ice and marine environment

2） Polar ecological environment and life science

3） Polar ionospheric-magnetospheric coupling process and space weather

4） Galaxy evolution and exoplanets in universe

5） Polar logistics technology
